В творческом поиске мы остановились на mid-century modern – стиле, рождённом в 50-е годы, основными чертами которого стали комфорт и сдержанность. Именно благодаря им mid-century modern актуален и в наше время, а мебель и другие элементы интерьера, разработанные когда-то в этом стиле, воспроизводятся снова и снова как в оригинальном виде, так и в репликах.
In our creative search, we settled on the mid-century modern – a style born in the 50s, the main features of which were comfort and restraint. It is thanks to them that mid-century modern is relevant in our time, and furniture and other interior elements, developed once in this style, are reproduced again and again both in their original form and in replicas. Mid-century modern is a hymn to convenience and tranquility, and what, if not tranquility and comfort, does a resident of a modern metropolis need?
The basis of our solution was a nuanced color scheme based on natural colors of stone and wood, simple and soft forms of furniture, as well as laconic geometric ornaments.
For the decoration of the walls, we chose porcelain stoneware with a light stone texture, linking its jointing with the structures of stained-glass windows and inscribing elevator portals, information stands, decorative panels into it. The relief of the panels can be associated with a car radiator grill or with an industrial part. Meeting in different parts of the interior, they seem to remind of the past of this place.
To achieve the effect of lightness, we decided to visually tear off the walls from the floor using a shadow plinth, and the ceiling from the walls using contour lighting. Then, we saturated the resulting space with laconic furniture and such accents as, for example, a chandelier, reminiscent of spherical lamps of the 50s, and, at the same time, looking modern.
We have achieved the home comfort characteristic of the mid-century modern by adding shelves with books, decorated with wood and letterboxes, reminiscent of wooden cabinets. Unusual accents are tables, finished in natural stone, contrasting with soft terracotta leather sofas. In the same vein, but a little more formally, we have decided and a meeting room, which can be accessed from the lobby.
In this project, we managed to create an interior “timeless”, which is very important in our opinion, because thanks to this it will remain relevant for a long time, giving a feeling of calm and comfort to the residents.
