The history of Samara is inextricably linked with its natural location: the city was founded on the banks of the river, which largely shaped the unique appearance and recognizability of the city. Samara can be associated with the river both in the literal sense - by the principle of location, and in the figurative sense - the city as a way of life. Therefore, the image of the river for the architectural project of the future congress center was not chosen by chance. The metaphor of water runs like a red thread through the architectural solution.

The site of the projected facility is located in the historical center of the city, it is surrounded by architectural monuments, the Lotte Hotel (1), the Museum of Local Lore (2) and the Opera and Ballet Theater (3). For this reason, it was important to create a unique architectural appearance of the congress center, which would not contradict the existing building, but would emphasize the surrounding architecture, working with it in an ensemble.

In addition, the spatial planning solution was determined by the shape of the site. Its L-shaped shape dictated the functional location of two blocks: the concert hall block is located along Galaktionovskaya Street and the conference block with restaurants is located along Samarskaya Street and is connected to the Lotte Hotel through passageways.

The new building will consist of two functional blocks, one of which will house a concert hall, the other a multifunctional space.

Thanks to the new center, the hotel’s function will be complemented by areas such as conference halls of various capacities, restaurants, cafes, public areas, and exhibition spaces.

An open-air park with various public functions, including view terraces, recreation areas, and children’s areas, will be located on the roof of the new building.

The image of the facades of the congress center symbolizes the light water surface, the waves that wash over the historical center of the city and, reflecting the facades of adjacent historical buildings, enhance their beauty.

The two blocks of buildings will be connected by light aboveground and underground passages, which will allow convenient logistics for hotel guests and guests of the new center.

The new multifunctional cultural center will become an important public space and a modern point of attraction for residents and visitors of Samara.

The project will combine the largest concert hall in the city district, venues for conferences, forums, theater, concert, sports and exhibition events, as well as restaurants and spaces for socializing and leisure. The center will host regional, federal and international events, enhancing Samara’s status as an active cultural and business city.
